The transformation of educational institutions into worthy facilities for learning and teaching, within the framework of the Reconstruction Program, continues in every city of the country with the reconstruction of existing schools and kindergartens, as well as with the construction of new facilities.

The 9-year-old school “Demokracia” in Valias, Kamzë has been rebuilt from the ground up with state funding. A school conceived as an educational complex that includes, in addition to facilities for 445 pupils, a kindergarten for 155 children, as well as facilities for the pedagogical staff of 36 teachers and educators.

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited today the new school, built according to all contemporary standards, with comfortable classrooms, laboratories, library, a recreational hall, an auditorium with 180 seats, and sports grounds, at the service of the entire community of Valias.

“This is one of 38 educational facilities including kindergartens, schools, nurseries that have been reconstructed in the Municipality of Kamza and is an investment of the state budget within the Reconstruction Program. It is a school with a capacity of over 400 pupils, 4400 square meters built with all the facilities like the gym or sports halls and also recreational facilities. This is a recreational hall for the school but will also serve the community for various activities.” – explained the Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu, who accompanied the Prime Minister on this visit. Among other things, the minister said that “For the year 2024-2025, construction sites for 40 schools, gymnasiums, and sports grounds will be opened throughout the country. We will complete 100 educational facilities in terms of reconstruction throughout the country within 2024, with the support of our partners”.

The Mayor of Kamza, Rakip Suli, said that this school meets all EU standards. “Thanks to the support of the government, today the school “Demokracia” meets all the standards of the European Union. We have 155 children in this kindergarten. Thanks to the support, today we have 13 kindergartens and nurseries built to this standard. Kamza is the third municipality in Albania today for the number of students in high schools and it rankes in the first place for educational investments.” – he said.

“If the word rebirth has a meaning, 100%, it is Kamza” – said Prime Minister Rama during the visit to the school grounds.

In order to bring facilitated services to students, Kamza Municipality is already committed to creating a connection between 12th grade students and encouraging them to study at the Agricultural University of Tirana together with the University.
